The World Doesn’t Disappear When You Close Your Eyes

This intriguingly titled novel, “The World Doesn’t Disappear When You Close Your Eyes,” was written when I decided to write from home in 1997,

surviving the near-death economic downturn and the devastating floods of 2011. At least three major publishers were interested in publishing the manuscript, but they chose not to, not because it was bad, but because they feared for my safety!
For me, fiction is fiction; I write about reality, but not about reality. Only someone mentally unstable would try to harm me,
as it’s a novel within a novel—two layers deep. The second part, “An Architect’s Handbook,” was submitted to a competition and made it to the final round, deemed suitable for publication, but ultimately, it wasn’t.
I’ve revised the typography and formatting. Because it’s a novel within a novel, the reading format is more impactful and engaging. Therefore, I recommend reading it as a PDF rather than e-pub, but ultimately, it’s up to you!
