In the year 2137, death is no longer the end. When the human body stops working, the mind is uploaded into Project Eternum, an endless virtual universe created by global tech giant NeuroPlay, where the dead can continue living in a digital utopia.
A man with no memory awakens in a forest, guided only by a strange burning smell and the ruins of an old wooden house. He soon discovers that this world is not reality, but the latest version of the afterlife simulation: Patch 100, where death has become nothing more than a transfer of consciousness. Rescued by the mysterious Tifa, a former admin who has chosen to live as a player, he learns the shocking truth: he was once one of the pioneers of this digital afterlife, but a system error has turned him into an NPC.
Meanwhile, Pim, a university student and his great-granddaughter, secretly enters the hidden Eternal Server, a forbidden space filled with the minds of the dead whom the system can no longer classify or control. Her mission is simple: find her great-grandfather and bring him back to the family.
To survive, Pim joins the Limping Gang, a group of players who accept painful negative traits, from torn ligaments to broken legs, in exchange for points to unlock high-level combat skills. In this world, money is god, and ordinary players must pay with their own bodies for the chance to stand equal with the ultra-rich.
Blending cyberpunk, game fantasy, family drama, and social critique, this is a gripping story about digital immortality, memory, inequality, and the price of surviving in a world where even the afterlife has become pay-to-win.
