Phumek
Phumek

Linjong held the teacup, her gaze fixed on the tea. She flinched slightly when Phumek’s fingertips touched her cheek. She glanced at his face, seeing him carefully applying cream to the red mark on her cheek. He squeezed out some bruise cream from the small tube in his hand and gently dabbed it on her cheek. His dark eyebrows furrowed, and his brown, glass-like eyes focused intently, seeing her reflection in them.
Phumek had bought the medicine while getting her water. He bit his lower lip nervously, afraid he might press too hard and hurt the bruised woman.
Even though he hadn’t witnessed Linjong being assaulted, it wasn’t hard to guess it was her aunt. Phumek was angry, angry at the middle-aged woman who was cruel enough to slap his little Lin, who was so small and frail.
If it had been an uncle instead of an aunt… He narrowed his eyes, a wicked glint in them.
