“Go on. Who else do you like? I mean… men.”
Pornphrom hesitated, her throat suddenly dry. She silently cursed her own body for wanting to throw herself into his arms, to bury her face in that broad, muscular chest every time he touched her. Was it because she was this shameless? That time she was sick… was that why she begged him to stay the night? Damn it, Pai!
“Uh… well, P’Kom, P’Ek… the guys at work. They’re all nice people.”
“Mm… list them all. Easier to deal with them in one go.”
“…Wait—what? What did you just say, Alex?!”
She gasped, nearly choking on her food. He looked completely unfazed, as if he hadn’t just talked about killing people.
“Why would you kill them?!”
“Because my woman likes them. I don’t trust anyone. Remember this, Pai—Alex Anderson’s woman doesn’t get to look at anyone else. If I don’t want to be paranoid, and I don’t want to hurt you… then I cut the problem at the root. I’ll just kill every damn man you like.”
“Hey!” Pornphrom exclaimed, her hand going limp as her fork clattered against the plate with a loud clang. Her eyes widened in shock. “Are you insane?!”
“I’m not.”
“Are you some kind of mafia boss? You can’t just order people killed like that—there are laws in this country!”
Alex let out a long sigh, then tilted his head with a faint smile. His lips curved, but his eyes glinted dangerously.
“I guess I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Alex Anderson. I run a transportation business. Am I mafia? No. A crime lord? No. But if there’s something I want—I get it. I’m selfish. What’s mine, I don’t share. Narrow-minded. I love hard… and I hate just as hard. Nice to meet you, Pai.”
Pornphrom fell silent, staring at the sharp-featured man with piercing blue eyes in stunned disbelief. She couldn’t find the words, her lips parting slightly. She knew he was a bad boy… but she never imagined he could be this dangerous. Oh no… she was doomed.
“…Can we break up?”
she asked.
“No. The only way you leave me… is when you stop breathing.”
A vow that echoed like—until death do us part.
